Why Group?
Because people need each other. We often feel alone and humiliated when in emotional pain. Talking out loud with others helps us hear, see and relate to our problems, lives and relationships differently. We begin to see new possibilities and learn how to be active creators and leaders of our lives and relationships.
Because I know the transformative power of group. We grow when we work on our emotional, intellectual, philosophical and relational development together.
Relaxation Class - Cultivating Inner Stillness and Peace in a Crazy World
The greatest way to take care of ourselves is simply to relax, both our minds and our bodies.
Deep physical and mental relaxation is healing, nourishing and rejuvenating. It helps us sleep better, lowers our blood pressure, and allows us to respond more mindfully and appropriately to whatever comes at us. It also can be effective in alleviating anxiety and managing chronic pain.
In our complex, over-stressed, fast-paced 21st=century world, deep relaxation does not happen naturally or often enough. The good new is, it is a skill anyone can develop.
Learn how to relax through experiential exercises including guided awareness, breath work, gentle yoga poses and mindfulness* meditation. All of the exercises and techniques taught in class can easily be used at home or wherever you go.
*Mindfulness is a way of paying attention to and seeing clearly whatever is happening in and around us right here and right now. It will not eliminate life's pressures, but it can help us respond to them in a calmer manner that benefits our heart, head and body. It helps us recognize and step away from habitual emotional and physiological reactions to everyday events. It provides us with a scientifically researched approach to cultivating clarity, insight and understanding. Practicing mindfulness allows us to be fully present in and for our lives, our relationships and ourselves.
Vision Statement:
I envision a world in which people are kind and gentle with each other—they stop and notice each other, and are able to be warm and welcoming. People have given up being such harsh critics of everyone and everything, and are able to quickly come into touch with other people’s humanity and their own. People are tripping over each other to make sure everyone is provided for in their inclusive and egalitarian communities. Differences are seen as creative challenges instead of threats. These creative challenges are solved by listening and mutual desire to solve them. People realize that what affects one affects all, and are committed to finding a way that works for all rather than focusing on only their own way.
Mission:
To build on the strengths of my clients and my community by serving as partner and collaborator in growth, combating social alienation, and practicing compassion in every relationship and interaction.

- Being and talking with other human beings--that is, being relational--gets us out of our heads and out of our own way.
- Group reminds us we are not alone and provides the opportunity to create our own team for emotional growth.
- All relationships, whether with family, friends or co-workers, can be challenging. Group is a place where we look at how we can better respond to these difficulties and challenges and create more rewarding lives and relationships.
